Young Masters Art Program

Embark Credit Union supports art education through it’s sponsorship of the Young Masters Art Program.  The Young Masters Art Program was started in 2010 and is designed to encourage and celebrate high school artists from Great Falls and surrounding communities.  The program consists of five components, three of which are sponsored by Embark - The People’s Choice Reception and Awards; Young Masters Awards and hands-on technique classes.

People’s Choice Reception and Awards- Students enter a competition in which they submit an original piece of artwork to be judged by a committee of professional artists.  The top 20 pieces are selected and displayed in the lobby of Embark Credit Union prior to Western Art Week.  Embark members, along with family and friends of the artists vote on their choice for the People’s Choice Award.  Embark hosts a “People’s Choice Reception” in which the top three “People’s Choice” winners are announced and cash awards are given.

Young Masters Awards - All submitted artwork is on display in the “Young Masters” room at the Heritage Inn during Western Art Week. This gives all art enthusiasts an opportunity to celebrate these young artists and appreciate their talent.  Cash prizes are awarded to the top four juried pieces.

Technique Classes – Students receive instruction from professional artists during hands-on technique classes held at the Heritage Inn.  Public and private schools from Great Falls and surrounding communities participate in one of four classes offered. Each class is taught by a different artist who volunteers their time to give instruction on their chosen medium.  Each class is comprised of 20-25 students, with approximately 10-12 schools represented from the 5 counties Embark serves. All supplies are provided through Embark’s sponsorship and leftover supplies are donated to the participating schools.
