An Update for Embark Members from the CEO, Deb Evans - Tuesday, May 25, 2021

It has been wonderful to see you return to our lobbies these past two months.

The pandemic year brought many challenges. We continue to work through a few of those challenges and some new ones.

Today, I want to notify you that we are closing our 10th lobby and shortening the 10th Avenue S. drive thru hours temporarily in order to train new staff. A new baby came early and another staff person had to leave the state unexpectedly to care for ill parents. Hiring has been a challenge since the pandemic but these two current events have left us short-handed. Our new staff are joining us June 2 and we expect a swift training period. The 10th lobby will close effective Wednesday, May 26 and the drive-up hours will change to 9:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. I know this is an inconvenience for many members. I will send another communication when we resume normal operations in a few weeks.

Finally, we have been experiencing unexpected and prolonged telephone service interruptions over the past two months. We are in the process of upgrading communications lines and equipment in the next 4 to 6 weeks. Apparently, the old copper underground lines are shorting out from moisture in the area near the main office. We do have our 24/7 call center backing up the phones but the transfer process is less than ideal.

Just like with your own home or business, it is always something!

In the next few weeks, we will be announcing the details for the 85th Annual Member celebration later this year.
